List of values as one item for form layout - And lov key and description lookup

This is a quick and dirty so take note of the downside:

0) Create LOV based on sql query and map lov in your vo.

1) Add transient attribute based on sql query to your vo. (tick mapped to column or sql or and selected in query tick boxes)

2) Enter alias and sql query (Expression) in (makes sure your where clause maps one column of the vo to a column in that table). Select t.desc from table t where t.code = CodeInVO

3) Add an addtional mapping in your LOV setting in your vo attribute and map it (green button to add and select the correct values in the drop down) to your newly created transient.

see below for the formatting of this LOV if you are using a panelFormLayout and you want it to be layed out as one entry in the panel form.

NOTE: if you have a required field mark the inputlistof values as required and simple and the panelLabelAndMessage as showRequired true.



1) Click this button to map to sql
2) This is the alias field that needs a unique value mentioned above.
3) The sql statement you wish to use is inserted here.
4) This is the mapping of the expression you wish to use (field in the mapped vo).

    Could you please explainstep 2.
    Especially how to access CodeInVO. Is there any expression to do the same?

    I would appreciate a sample code if possible.

    Thanks very much for answering my query. Is this usecase where we need to display both the ID column and name column? Otherwise we can use the UI hints in the LOV of ID COLUMN to have the NAME COLUMN displayed in the list, isn't it?

JBO-25013: TooManyObjectsException

oracle.jbo.TooManyObjectsException: JBO-25013: Too many objects match the primary key oracle.jbo.Key[Key null ]. Ok so for you it may be trying to insert a duplicate record this should explain your problem (also check trigger they could be the cause.) NOTE: You can also try to create a new duplicate EO if you have a page with two VO's using the same EO. This could sort your problems. For me I needed to add a launch listener on my LOV and clear the cache of my vo. MANIFEST.MF merge JDeveloper for an executable jar

Goto your project > properties. Then click on deployment in the menu. Edit or add a jar deployment profile. Fill in the details under jar options (select Include manifest and give it a main class name) Also remember that the merge functionality only works with a BLANK line at the end of the merge file. REALLY this caught me. My merge file contents: Class-Path: commons-codec-1.3.jar [...empty line here CRLF...]
